Coming soon: Workout at Work Day

CSP members will again be asked to play a key role in helping to increase workers’ physical activity when Workout at Work Day (WOWD) is repeated in 2012.

Taking place on 19 June, and organised with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE), WOWD aims to build on the success of last year’s event.

In 2011, CSP and ACPOHE members organised over 200 events across the UK to inspire employers and their employees to increase physical activity in the workplace and to promote the role physiotherapy staff play in encouraging better public health.

Members organised events to show the importance of exercise during the working day – activities included walks, cycle challenges, pilates and belly dancing.

Becca Bryant, CSP head of press and PR, said: ‘WOWD highlights the business benefits of having a fit, healthy and physically active workforce and demonstrates how physiotherapy staff help deliver this. Last year’s campaign was highly successful, with over 250 items of coverage.’

WOWD is an ideal opportunity to promote the work you do locally.

More information about getting involved in WOWD 2012 will be available next month on the CSP website.
