Call for abstracts for joint Irish conference

A successful initiative between the CSP and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists will see the second cross-border conference for physiotherapists held this autumn.

The ISCP's educational and scientific conference, Radharc Eile - A different view, will be held in Dublin on 16 and 17 November. Although organised by physiotherapists from the Republic of Ireland, the CSP in Northern Ireland will again help with suggested speakers and discussion topics.

Last year's inaugural cross-border conference highlighted how physios north and south of the border face similar issues. CSP Northern Ireland policy officer Tom Sullivan said the event was a huge success.

This year's conference would be an opportunity to build on last year's event, which was attended by the Republic of Ireland's minister for health and children, Mary Harney, he added.

If this year's conference is as successful as last year's, it may herald an increase in further joint working between the two physiotherapy societies north and south of the Irish border.

CSP members can influence debate at the conference by submitting abstracts for oral and poster presentations for consideration at November's event.

The abstract form and submission guidelines are available by emailing  Abstracts from CSP members should be sent to Hilary McErlean at by 16 June
