The low back pain screening tool was developed by a team at Keele University, led by research physiotherapist Dr Jonathan Hill.
It has been developed into an app by David Toy, a CSP member who is working towards a fellowship of The College of Physiotherapists in Australia.
He produced the app during his study programme.
STarT Back uses a prognostic screening tool to predict the risk of low back pain developing into a chronic condition.
Mr Toy said: ‘STarT Back is such a wonderful tool. I wanted to adopt the online space to use it fully.
‘The app is aimed at anyone working in primary care, not just physiotherapists.’
