The Adapted Tai Chi Exercises course is a unique introductory practical workshop designed to be of interest and practical use for health professionals such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Exercise Instructors as well as Assistants, Technical Instructors and students.

  • The basic principles of Tai Chi
  • The benefits of and research evidence for the use of Tai Chi Exercises for health and rehabilitation
  • How to adapt and integrate Tai Chi Exercises (both seated and standing) into clinical practice for both individual and group treatments

These exercises are ideal in the rehabilitation of a wide range of conditions such as falls prevention, chronic pain, arthritis, rheumatology, neurological (MS, Parkinsons, Head Injury, MND etc) palliative care, pulmonary and cardiac rehab, orthopaedics, mental health and learning difficulties.

The exercises have been well received by rehabilitation staff working in the Community, General, Psychiatric (includes Forensic) Hospitals, private clinics as well as many hospices across the UK and Ireland and last year in a private clinic which specialises in treating Osteoporosis  patients in Toronto, Canada.

Feedback from attendees has been very positive and many have said how much they and their patients have benefited from the exercises and enjoyed them as a form of relaxation and rehabilitation.
