A training day in using this standardised test, which is validated for use for children with cerebral palsy and Down’s syndrome, aged 5 months to 16 years. There has also been some validation with children with acquired brain injury.

The course is suitable for paediatric physiotherapists. Some doctors and paediatric occupational therapists may also find it of interest, especially if involved in research projects using the GMFM.
It is recommended that applicants have prior clinical experience working with children with cerebral palsy.

Course participants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • The features of the different versions of the Gross Motor Function      Measure
  • The key requirements of how to administer the GMFM8-88 and 66.
  • The different scoring systems for the GMFM-88 and GMFM-66
