Atypical Parkinson's Study Day

This one-day course is recommended for Allied Health Professionals with an interest in neurological conditions. Therapy management will be addressed and workshops for individual disciplines will form part of the day. Patients will give their perspective of some of these conditions.

Course Aims

  • Gain an increased knowledge and understanding of these conditions
  • Understand the management of these conditions
  • Understand and know how to implement the therapy interventions
  • Have an understanding of how such conditions can impact an individual

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD) and Lewy Body Dementia (LBD)

MSA is a progressive neurological disorder, affecting mobility, balance and autonomic function.
PSP is a progressive neurological disorder, impairment of movement, vision, speech and swallowing. 
CBD is a progressive, neurological disorder with impairments in cognition and executive function with upper limb dysfunction and other Parkinson's features. 
Lewy Body Dementia is a progressive condition, causing impairments in, spatial awareness and executive function alongside motor features of Parkinson's.

CPD: 5.25 hours.
