Legal services

CSP membership includes access to a range of legal services.

The CSP's Employment Relations & Union Services (ERUS) are founded on a structure of well-trained stewards and safety representatives. If you have a problem at work, they are on hand to help you and are your first point of contact.

Your local CSP reps are supported by a network of regional stewards and safety representatives, and by regionally based CSP full-time Senior Negotiating Officers (SNOs).

Should your local reps need help in resolving an individual or collective problem, or in progressing a claim to improve your working conditions, the Senior Negotiating Officer for your region will normally provide this assistance.

Employment advice and representation at meetings and hearings, including the level of representation, is provided at the discretion of the CSP and may be withdrawn when it is judged appropriate to do so.

In the rare event of representation needing to be withdrawn the decision would be taken by the relevant Senior Negotiating Officer after discussion with the member concerned. There will be a right of appeal through the CSP complaints procedure.
