Meeting the financial challenge
The financial challenge facing the NHS is of great concern to the CSP and we are doing all we can to support CSP members in these difficult times.
As part of our package of support to CSP members we are developing a range of new resources, as well as updating existing resources. The list below is not exhaustive:- CSP briefing paper: NHS finances - challenging vacancy freezes and staffing cuts
- CSP guide: Campaigning in the NHS
- CSP information paper IP05: Redundancy - a guide to the law and NHS provisions
- CSP information paper IP06: Redundancy - a guide for managers
- CSP information paper IP10: TUPE - The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations
- The England Social Partnership forum: principles for partnership working at local, regional and national level
Resources will also be made available on iCSP.
The CSP is also taking steps to monitor the impact of financial reductions on members' jobs and services, so that we can assess trends and adapt our strategies for supporting members.
A new managers' survey will be carried out and this will be reinforced with more in-depth monitoring of a smaller number of employers on a six-monthly basis.
Action points:
CSP members: ensure your CSP steward is kept abreast of any adverse changes to your employment and please try to attend any workplace staff and/or CSP meetings.
CSP stewards: alert your senior negotiating officer to any major local developments. Please also ensure you attend your regional training days.
