Ideas for Frontline
Contact with readers is very important to the Frontline team and we are keen to get your suggestions for stories for the magazine, to help us keep in touch with what’s going on.
So if you’ve got an idea for an article you would like us to consider, use the information below to submit details. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee to publish everything. Stories may be published in Frontline and/or on this website.
News
Please let us know about any new developments in your workplace or specialist group that you belong to, or personal stories, that might interest other readers. These could include achievements, such as winning an award, research projects, new ways of working that improve patient care, or cutbacks and threats to services. You don’t need to write the piece yourself, as we will do that, but you should give us the important details about what has happened.
This could be in the form of brief notes or bullet points, but as space is at a premium it should be kept as concise if possible, and not more than 400 words. Please let us know about developments as soon as you can. Email details and any photographs to our news team at frontline@csp.org.uk or tel 020 7306 6665 to discuss. You should include contact details, including a daytime phone number.
Fundraising events
Physiotherapists are altruistic people who are often involved in raising money for good causes. Unfortunately we do not have space to mention all of them and do not generally run stories before events. However, we are always looking for good photographs: if you have high quality, engaging images of an event in which you have participated, particularly in unusual circumstances or surroundings, or of yourself in training for an event, we will look at the story. The information in the paragraph above should be used to submit these stories.
Features
We are always interested in ideas for features. To discuss any possible ideas, contact our features editor Joanna Lyall at lyallj@csp.org.uk Please be aware that features are planned well in advance.
Photographs
We are keen to use pictures provided by readers. Digital images should be 300dpi, a minimum of 10cm wide and sent as jpegs. If the files are over 4mb, please use our web-based upload site
using csp and upload860 as username and password respectively and follow the onscreen instructions. If you do submit pictures, please let us know who or what the pictures are showing, and whether we need to credit anyone (such as a photographer or agency). Please also make sure you have the permission of everyone in the photograph for it to be published in Frontline and/or on this website.
Letters
Frontline values letters from readers as an important way to stay in touch with what members think. Please email letters to talkback@csp.org.uk stating that they are for publication. Letters should not be more than 250 words. References should only be included where essential to support a clinical argument. References should include the following information: lead author, publication, year, volume and page numbers.
The editor reserves the right to refuse publication and to edit letters. Please include your full name, address and daytime telephone number.
