ER-WCPT conference

The 6th General Meeting of the European Region of WCPT (ER-WCPT) was held on 22 - 24 May 2008 in Athens, Greece. CSP president Sarah Bazin was elected to the Executive Committee at the meeting.

ER-WCPT is one of the five regions of the WCPT and includes 36 EU and non-EU European countries. A General Meeting for all member countries is held every two years to approve action plans, debate issues of common concern and elect officers. The CSP's motion on the establishment of an ER-WCPT research strategy was successful.

Workshops were held on the use of the physiotherapy benchmark statement on education, twinning and networking and also the promotion of continuing professional development (CPD).

The CSP was represented by Chair of Council Liz Cavan; International Development Adviser Liz Carrington; Grahame Pope, Education Working group member and Sarah Bazin - the Society's nominee who was elected first vice-chairman.

Pain in the Back
