CSP Awards

CSP Awards are now given annually to individuals deserving special recognition for their contribution to services and the well being of patients.

The fourth annual CSP awards ceremony takes place at the Hotel Russell, London, 12th November 2010. The categories are:

  • Enhancing self care and independent living.
  • Rethinking the patient care pathway for long term conditions.
  • Enhancing occupational health and keeping people "fit for work".
  • Achieving excellence in learning, teaching, development or mentorship.

Please note that the deadline for 2010 nominations has now passed. Shortlisted nominees will be notified on or around 27 September.

How the nominations are judged

Awards are judged against the following criteria (but not all criteria will be relevant to every nomination):
  • improved clinical outcomes for patients
  • improved access and waiting times
  • improved the working lives of staff
  • working in partnership with others
  • improved cost effectiveness
  • involvement of service users
  • clear use of data to measure and evaluate outcome
  • good use of communication and information technology
  • appropriate use of research and evidence

Rules of the CSP Awards 2010

  1. The awards are open to members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  2. Nominations may be for individual physiotherapists or teams working in any sector including NHS, HEIs, independent, charity and voluntary sectors in the UK.
  3. Teams must include at least one chartered physiotherapist, and may also include physiotherapy support workers and other health and social care professionals.
  4. Associate and student members of the CSP are not eligible to nominate, or be nominated as individuals (but may be nominated as part of a team as long as the team also includes a chartered physiotherapist)
  5. An individual or team may only be nominated in one category.
  6. If a team is short-listed for an award, a maximum of three team members will be invited to attend the event.
  7. A single cash prize is awarded per award. In the case of a team winning any category this prize will be awarded to the team members in attendance at the award event, to be shared among all relevant team members.
  8. Prizes are non-transferable.
  9. The judges' decision is final.
