CSP twinning agreement

The CSP entered into a twinning agreement with the Czech professional body, UNIFY, under the auspices of the European Region of WCPT (ER-WCPT), in January 2001 . The project which ran for three years was successfully completed in December 2003. It was designed to assist with the following priorities and activities identified by UNIFY:

  • raising the profile of physiotherapy in the Czech Republic by developing a marketing strategy and materials
  • increasing the influence of UNIFY over the Czech government and other authorities that have control over the profession and its education through timely and effective lobbying
  • strengthening UNIFY as an organization; increasing and consolidating its membership and strengthening its regional structure by developing the UNIFY Newsletter, identifying member needs and holding a conference.
  • assisting the development of autonomy within the Czech physiotherapy profession by increasing its standing through the adoption of a code of conduct, professional standards and working towards an evidence base
  • promoting clinical debate between the CSP and UNFY and two way collaboration by holding a seminar (evidence based practice, the development of clinical and occupational interest groups, career path).
