Who can join? Full membership is open to all chartered physiotherapists. Associate membership is open to all therapists and professional bodies with an interest in neurology. Student membership is offered at a reduced rate.Overseas membership is available for physiotherapists working in neurology in other countries.
What is expected of members? Exchange of information via Synapse, the ACPIN journal, by writing articles, case reports, equipment reviews. Attendance at conferences is expected. Members are encouraged to become fully involved in the work of the ACPIN and to support their local group.
How does the group support members' continuing professional development/lifelong learning? ACPIN website
This includes a downloadable membership form, research/database request form, details of the National Committee, structure of ACPIN, events, membership, regions and research information.

Regional network
The group has a network of 17 regional representatives who can be contacted for information regarding study days and the private physiotherapy register. Each region has its own educational programme.

Peer support/mentorship
Support and advice is available via the Executive Committee. Local advice can be obtained via regional representatives.

Publications
Synapse is produced twice a year in April and November. It is issued free to all members.

Conferences and study days
The Conference and AGM are held in March and a study day in April.

Links with other groups/organisations
ACPIN has links with organisations in the field of neurology, including the MS Society, Stroke Association, Headway and the Guillain Barré Society.

How does the group promote research and evaluation? Promoting research awareness
Members can access the ACPIN database. The information held relates to members' specific interests and their willingness to be involved in research. Regional research facilitators and the group's research officer are appointed to promote and encourage research within the membership.
