Database help

This page describes the structure of the online searchable database for the Sharing Effective Physiotherapy Practice project. Some 22 services are in the public domain and accessible to everyone. A subset of 39 projects are only available to CSP members.

Introduction

The SEPP database has two parts:

  1. the first subset is in the public domain: the database records correspond with all 22 projects featured in the 'Making Physiotherapy Count' publication.
  2. the second subset (39 projects) is for CSP members only and is intended to encourage sharing of practice: please make sure you are logged in to the site to view these extra records.

Apart from obtaining a printed version of the project report, it's also possible to browse records from the SEPP database online in one of two ways:

  • by project: a complete list of projects, alpha-sorted by project title
  • by client group: projects grouped by a number of different client groups

Public Domain

Here the focus is on services for people with musculoskeletal conditions because of their high incidence, their implications for public resources and the impact that physiotherapy-led initiatives have in the management of these conditions. Musculoskeletal conditions affect one in five people. They take up 25% of all GP consultations and result in over 1.6 million orthopaedic referrals in the UK every year.

CSP Members

This dataset has been developed as a result of the wider SEPP project. It includes examples of good practice from a range of client groups and includes services for: Cancer, Children, Critical Care, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Musuloskeletal, Neurology, Older People and Womens' Health.
