Database of researchers
The CSP Database of Researchers contains information about the experience and expertise of researchers who undertake physiotherapy related research. The database is used as a communication tool to facilitate networking between researchers, CSP members and the CSP. The database is also analysed regularly by the CSP to provide reports on the profile of physiotherapy research capacity and capability. The information is vital for lobbying for funding for research and research training.
Who should register on the database?
It is important that the database reflects the full research capacity and capability of the profession. Therefore any member with postgraduate research experience or qualifications should register on the database.
And any researcher who undertakes physiotherapy-related research is also welcome to register, regardless of profession.

Who has access to the database?
The database is stored as part of the CSP membership database and only CSP staff can directly access the data. However, the database is intended to be a networking tool for CSP members and other researchers. Therefore anyone can request a search for researchers with specific experience and expertise provided that the information is used for the purpose of facilitating research. CSP staff will undertake the search and provide e-mail contact details of relevant researchers who have consented to be contacted. See more details on the search request page. When you complete the survey for the database you decide who you want to have access to your information by ticking data protection statements. You can say that you do not want to be contacted at all, in which case details about your research experience and expertise will be included in CSP reports on physiotherapy research capacity and capability and you may be contacted by the CSP to update this information. You will not be contacted for any other purpose in relation to this database. Otherwise you can choose whether you want to be contacted by the CSP, contracted CSP workers, the National Physiotherapy Research Network, non-commercial third parties and commercial third parties.
At some point in the future the information on the database may be transferred onto an open access website. When you complete the survey you will be asked whether you consent for your details to be published on a website.
