Making Physiotherapy Count

Making Physiotherapy Count offers valuable collection of insights into physiotherapy best practice, with details of 22 examples of innovative musculoskeletal services across the United Kingdom, alongside contact information. Compiled as part of the Society’s Sharing Effective Physiotherapy Practice Project (SEPP), it showcases work from addressing back pain to the promotion of physical activity.

Payment by Results

Payment by Results in 2007/08

This document confirms arrangements for the Payment by Results funding system during the financial year 2007/08, describing it as a ’transparent, rules-based system for paying trusts’, and lays out a vision that the new funding system ‘will reward efficiency, support patient choice and diversity and encourage activity for sustainable waiting time reductions”

The NHS in England: the operating framework for 2007/08

This important document outlines the framework within which NHS commissioners In England are required to work during 2007/08, and sets out four key development priorities for action and funding: the 18-week wait, reducing rates of healthcare-acquired infections, reducing health inequalities and promoting health and well-being, and financial health.

The achievement of a maximum wait of 18 weeks from GP referral to the start of treatment for patients is one of the four national health priorities for the NHS in England in 2007/08.
