Becoming an interactiveCSP (iCSP) facilitator

What facilitators do.  They contribute and manage content, encourage debate and knowledge sharing and promote desirable behaviours among community members. They do this by having additional permissions on their iCSP website account to enable them to add, edit and approve content on the site.

Who we want

We are looking for people who are passionate about their specialty, use the website regularly and keen to learn from their peers. People who will share what they know and who will encourage others to do the same. Our facilitators have varied clinical backgrounds and levels of experience. Facilitators do not need advanced computer skills. We offer training (either a training day or distance learning) and on-going email and telephone support as and when required.

How the role works

The role is flexible. You give what you can, when it suits your life and timetable and you take what you need, i.e. you focus on your areas of knowledge and interest. The time commitment is a minimum of 2 hours per month and we encourage you to be realistic and to only give the amount of time that you can maintain.

Once trained you will join a virtual team, usually 3-6 in number. We encourage facilitators to keep in touch by email and also to hold periodic telephone conferences. The facilitators should also be supported by Professional network who are CSP’s partners for this network. The specifics of how this works vary from group to group.

The benefits

In return for your time and effort you will:
1. Engage with and learn from peers who share your interests.
2. Keep up to date with the latest developments affecting your specialty.
3. Improve your writing, editing and computer skills.
4. Bring new skills and knowledge to your workplace.
5. Develop your links with the CSP and the professional network.

Is it for you?

Asking yourself the questions below will help you to decide:
• Are you interested in debating with and learning from your peers?
• Are you are able to spare at least 30 minutes per week?
• Do you [or are you willing to] create or join discussions?
• Are you willing to encourage peers to share their knowledge?
• Are you willing to help us to manage content on iCSP?
• Are you a member of the Professional Network for your specialty?
• Do you have average or better computer skills?

If you answered yes to most of these questions then we think you would get a lot out of the role. If you are still unsure or have further questions then please call or email us to find out more on or 020 7314 7870.

If you are ready to put yourself forwards please email your expression of interest to confirming that you are a Professional network member. We will then contact you again with more details about the training options.

We look forward to hearing from you.
