  • Amnesty International
    Amnesty International is the foremost campaigning organisation in the field of human rights. It campaigns both for individual victims and on broad human rights issues such as violence against women. The CSP is affiliated to Amnesty and has a seat on Amnesty UK's Trade Union Network Committee, which exists to promote the engagement of trade unions and trade unionists in the work of Amnesty International through the advancement of mutual solidarity and activism on human rights, taking account of the interests and priorities of the member unions.   • Baby Milk Action
    Baby Milk Action is a small non-profit organisation campaigning to stop misleading advertising of breast milk substitutes, particularly in the third world, and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding. Baby Milk Action works within a global network to strengthen independent, transparent and effective controls on the marketing of the baby feeding industry. The CSP is a supporter of Baby Milk Action.

  • Bone and Joint Decade
    The CSP is now a member of the Bone and Joint Decade (BJD), the global alliance for musculoskeletal (MSK) health. Find out more about this initiative in our news story:

  • Consortium of Health Independent Libraries in London (CHILL)
    The Consortium of Health Independent Libraries in London (CHILL) exists to provide the independent health libraries of the London area with opportunities to improve their services through mutual communication and co-operation. The CSP Library and Information Service is a member, and benefits from this relationship financially through preferential rates for journal purchases on behalf of the membership.
  • Cuba Solidarity Campaign
    The Cuba Solidarity Campaign campaigns in the UK against the US blockade of Cuba and for the Cuban people’s right to self-determination and sovereignty. The CSP is affiliated to and has been a supporter of CSC since 2001, following a decision by the Industrial Relations Committee. Of particular interest to the CSP is the Cuban health care system which achieves very good results in a developing country subjected to a major trade blockade.

  • Child Poverty Action Group

    Child Poverty Action is the leading national charity working to end poverty among children, young people and families in the UK. Their vision is of a society free of child poverty where all children can enjoy their childhoods and have fair chances in life to reach their full potential. Although in the last decade the number of children living in poverty has reduced, progress has not been fast enough to reach the goal of ending child poverty by 2020 that all the main political parties signed up to in the Child Poverty Act.

  • European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy
    ER-WCPT is the European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy. It is an organisation of professional associations of physiotherapists from 36 EEA countries. As a non-profit, non-governmental organisation it is funded by Member Organisation (MOs) subscription fees. MOs must be members of the WCPT. It is a strong single representative organisation representing 150,000 physical therapists. The office and secretariat are based in Brussels. The CSP is actively engaged in the ER-WCPT working groups.
  • Graybrook Insurance Brokers Limited
    Graybrook Insurance Brokers Limited are the insurance broker who arrange the insurance cover for eligible UK physiotherapists. Graybrook Insurance Brokers Limited work closely with the Professional Advice Service and other Functions within the CSP to ensure optimum insurance cover is provided for eligible members.

    Greece Solidarity Campaign
    The Greece Solidarity Campaign (GSC) is an independent campaign and non-party political organisation, established to show solidarity with the people resisting 'austerity' in Greece. It is supported by the TUC and has a number of affiliated organisations and individual members.

  • Healthcare Information for All (HIFA)
    HIFA is a global health network. Its vision is a world where every person and every health worker will have access to the healthcare information they need to protect their own health and the health of those for whom they are responsible. HIFA runs five forums in three languages (English, Portuguese, French) and includes more than 14,000 health professionals, librarians, publishers, policymakers and researchers from 2,500 organisations in 170 countries, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and professional associations worldwide. The CSP joined HIFA in 2008.

    Justice for Colombia
    Justice for Colombia (JFC) campaigns for human rights, workers' rights and the search for peace with social justice in Colombia. Established in 2002 by British trade unionists, JFC was created in response to the appalling human rights crisis in Colombia - and particularly the abuses committed against trade unionists. In that year alone, 184 trade unionists were assassinated and Colombia remains the most dangerous place in the world to be a trade unionist. The CSP is affiliated to JfC.

  • Liberty
    Liberty is also known as the National Council for Civil Liberties. Founded in 1934, it is a cross party, membership organisation with no political party affiliations Liberty’s primary function is to promote the values of individual human dignity, equal treatment and fairness as the foundations of a democratic society. It is at the heart of the movement for fundamental rights and freedoms in the UK.

    Liberty campaigns work to protect basic rights and freedoms through the courts, in Parliament and in the wider community. This is done through a combination of public campaigning, test case litigation, parliamentary work, policy analysis and the provision of free advice and information.

  • National Pensioners' Convention
    The National Pensioners Convention (NPC) is Britain's biggest pensioner organisation representing over 1000 local, regional and national pensioner groups with a total of 1.5m members. The NPC’s main objective is to promote the welfare and interests of all pensioners, as a way of securing dignity, respect and financial security in retirement. The CSP is a regular supporter of the NPC.

  • The Neurological Alliance
    The Neurological Alliance is the collective voice for some 80 organisations, including the CSP, working together to make life better for millions of people in England with a neurological condition.

  • Stonewall
    Stonewall was formed to put the case for equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people on the mainstream political agenda. Stonewall provides research into discrimination in the workplace and homophobia, including bullying in schools. The CSP makes regular donations to Stonewall and has used Stonewall's information in supporting our own LGBT members. Stonewall officers have also given presentations at meetings of CSP LGBT network.
  • Trades Union Congress (TUC)
    The TUC is the voice of Britain at work. With 58 affiliated unions representing nearly seven million working people from all walks of life, the TUC campaigns for a fair deal at work and for social justice at home and abroad. The TUC has many links with political parties, business and the community, and its representatives sit on public bodies and government advisory groups at national and international level.

    The TUC is also involved in lobbying the government direct and organises regular meetings between affiliated unions and government ministers in key areas of the public sector, including health. The TUC's affiliated trade unions receive a range of quality services that support trade union officers and negotiators, aid recruitment and retention of members and assist policy development and implementation. The TUC has offices in the English regions, Wales and Scotland. The CSP has been a member of the TUC since 1993.

    The CSP's director of Employment Relations & Union Services sits on the TUC’s General Council and Executive while other staff regularly attend TUC meetings. CSP members attend TUC conferences as delegates and participate in proposing, seconding and voting on motions.

    The ICTU is the all-Ireland equivalent of the TUC, covering both Northern Ireland and the Republic. The CSP is affiliated to the Northern Ireland section.

    The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) is the voice of trade unions in Scotland. The STUC is independent from the TUC, although the two work closely together.

  • World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT)
    The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) was founded in 1951 and is the sole global organisation for physical therapy, representing more than 300,000 physical therapists worldwide through its 101 member organisations. WCPT is a non-profit organisation and is registered as a charity in the UK. It is committed to promote the profession and improve global health. WCPT encourages high standards of physical therapy research, education and practice, supports the exchange of information between WCPT regions and member organisations and collaborates with national and international organisations. The CSP is a founder member of WCPT.
  • Trade Union Disability Alliance
    The Trade Union Disability Alliance (TUDA) is a campaigning organisation of disabled trade union members. TUDA aims to co-ordinate the perspective of disabled people in the trade union movement; bridge the gap between the trade union and disability movements; work within, and lobby, trade unions to ensure they make their own services accessible and relevant to disabled members; promote understanding of disability as an equalities issues and work with disabled people to persuade them of the benefits of trade union membership and activity. The CSP is a member of TUDA and has used their publications to produce briefings on employment rights for members.

  • Unite Against Fascism
    Unite Against Fascism is a national campaign with the aim of alerting British society to the rising threat of the extreme right, in particular the British National Party (BNP), gaining an electoral foothold in this country. The CSP supports UAF and our affiliation to UAF sends a strong message that the CSP will not tolerate the sentiments of the extreme right.

    War on Want fights poverty in developing countries in partnership and solidarity with people affected by globalisation. WOW campaigns for human rights and against the root causes of global poverty, inequality and injustice. The CSP is affiliated to War On Want.
